10 adorable ways to include your pet in your wedding photo

It’s a beautiful Sunday, you and your beloved one are lounging next to the pool, chit chatting your wedding next June. Out of the blue, little Tiger comes to claim for attention, without doubt, Buddy is following behind. The idea of having these fussy fellows clad in miniature exquisite outfits and accompanied you up the aisle and in a family wedding photo just pops out. With that in mind, you can absolutely throw a pet friendly wedding and capture the best moments with your animal lifetime companions. It might seem easy but wedding pet photos pose many challenges and you need to be ready for it.

To get your four-legged companions to appear in the shots without much fuss, here I’ve put together a handy guide of wedding photos and tips to include your pets. To get you ready, let’s find some adorable ways to shoot the best wedding pet photos

How to shoot wedding pet photos?

1. Have a pet handler

It becomes a lot of work when you have to wrangle the dog while focusing on the shooting section. That’s why you should bring somebody along, like a friend, a parent, or anyone who will tackle the pet for you.

It’s not the end if you can’t find any person. You can always call a pet service company and request a caretaker at hourly rates. Many services can be done from picking up your pets from your house, bringing them to the wedding, handling them during the event, then taking them home safely. Just make sure that the person or the service will keep their eyes on your pets. Their duty should include watching the animals, giving them food, taking them to the bathroom. That will make the rest of your day more relieving.

2. Bring the pet’s favorite toys and treats

You know what your animal pal likes the best. So bring along anything that can catch your pet's attention.

It can be a squeaky toy, tennis ball, chewy toys, or things you can hold to pause the pets for some seconds. Ideally, it should be something you can hold above the camera so that the pet will look directly at the photographer, helping him catch the moment.

3. Squat to the pet’s level

It would make the photo more engaging when the couple can get down to the same eye level as the pet. When everybody scoots in together, subjects in the images will look more unified and natural.

If it is too hard to squad on the floor with your wedding dresses or tuxedo, holding your pet in arms could be an option too. But keep in mind, the photo shooting with the pets should not last more than 15 minutes. You would not want to stress out your little fellow on this lovely wedding day, would you?

Adorable pet wedding photo ideas

1. Lush leash

You can craft a flourishing leash from flowers for your pup, kit, or horse, even lizard, to walk down the aisle with you. Alternatively, you can have the kids to handle the leash, being the angels behind you.

2. Capture the cute moments

Capture the love between you and your pet. It could be a moment where you are holding the pet, shaking its hand, kissing it, or simply an eye-to-eye affection. The picture would look amazing in both a couple or solo. Even your woofy might accidentally mess up your makeup with its kisses, just remember it is once a lifetime moment, don’t get mad after him/her.

3. The train dress

Let your furballs be a passenger on the tail-end of your long dress. Most of them will enjoy the ride and make hilarious moments along the way. By doing this, you should be careful not to have the cat or dog destroying the gown though. And kindly remind, the train dress is not recommended for small animals like hamsters and birds.

4. The aisle walker

Give your pet this honor to walk you down the aisle. While cats can be an elegant walker in front of you, dogs can lead the way or be by your side. The main concern of this pose is to get your pets right on track. They may get distracted by the guests. As you are the one the pets will listen to, you can walk them on flourishing leashes and direct them in your own ways. For hamsters, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, and birds, you can carry them on the hands. Don’t forget to prepare a privileged seat for the pet to be close to you.

5. The groomed groom’s man

The best man of the day can have the best man of his own too. Why not give the duty of the groomsman to a four-paw companion? Surely your animals will take the mission seriously.

6. The dance mate

It’s totally ok to have a dance with your dog on “Who Let the Dogs Out” or “Hound Dog.” Cats may have no clue, but canines are the best at dancing.

7. The entrance spotlight

Do you need a hottest at the gate? Why not assign that crucial role to your little pup. Payment is as cheap as a bag of delicious jerky dog sticks and memorable shots of your beloved paw friend in duty.

8. The sign holder

A sign pole looks too ordinary, but a pet sign pole doesn’t. You can find a board and print funny lines such as “Save the date,” “my humans are getting married,” “I loved her first,” or “Daddy asked and Mommy said yes.” Surely, you can’t find any better person to assign this job than your fur fellow.

9. The ring holder

An obedient pet can be the most trustable yet adorable ring holder you can ever find. It just looks too cute to have the ring resting on your dog’s nose and then snap a shot of that precious moment. For a cat, bird, or small pets, you can prepare an honored seat and let your pet sit there by the rings. You should make sure the rings are also under a human’s observation.

10. The well-dressed pet

It’d be such a huge flaw if your pet doesn’t have its own dress or tux. So, don’t forget this part and note to your photographer to pay attention to this unique attendee.
